Caninsulin

Caninsulin for dogs is a prescription insulin injection used to treat diabetes in dogs and, occasionally, cats. The active ingredient in Caninsulin is highly purified porcine insulin which is a naturally occurring hormone produced in the pancreas. Caninsulin products do not need to be diluted as they are made of a balanced mixture of amorphous (soluble) insulin and crystalline insulin.

Yes. All Caninsulin products must remain refrigerated between +2°C and +8°C and must never be frozen. Always be sure to store Caninsulin products upright and away from direct light and use within 28 days of opening.

As stated, Canninsulin must be kept between +2°C and +8°C and so should be refrigerated. Taking Canninsulin from the fridge to draw your pet’s dosage is okay, but it should be returned to the fridge as soon as possible.

The Caninsulin VetPen is a reusable device that ensures easy handling, dosing and more rapid injection preparation for treating diabetes in cats and dogs. It is specifically designed for use with a Caninsulin insulin cartridge and allows for easy dosage by turning the dial to draw up the designated dose.

Using the Caninsulin VetPen reduces the risk of dosing errors and allows for quick and easy administration.

To use the Caninsulin VetPen:

1. 1. Insert the VetPen Cartridge
2. 2. Attach a sterile needle to the VetPen
3. 3. Prime the VetPen by removing bubbles
4. 4. Select the specified dose by turning the dial
5. 5. Inject the dose using the push-release button
6. 6. Remove the needle and dispose of using the appropriate disposal methods.

Always ensure you use a fresh, sterile needle for each administration and store your VetPen in the fridge between dosages.
