Metacam 0.5mg/ml oral suspension for cats is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID).

This prescription only medication is used to help manage arthritis in cats as well as acting as a pain relief for those who suffer from chronic (long-term) or acute (short-term) musculo-skeletal disorders such as sprained muscles.

Metacam suspension for cats is also used in a number of other diseases and illnesses to alleviate inflammation and reduce any pain that your cat is suffering from. It is often used as a post-operative pain relief to help reduce any pain and discomfort.

Metacam for cats is a yellowish oral suspension which contains the active ingredient Meloxicam in the form of a tasty liquid which can be added directly onto the food - This is particularly helpful with fussy cats and avoids the task of giving tablets. Metacam for cats is easy to give and should be administered with food (unless otherwise advised by your veterinary surgeon).

A syringe is provided to dose your cat in kilograms according to its bodyweight. Metacam is usually given once daily and an improvement is normally seen in cats within the first 7 days of starting treatment.

Ideally, Metacam suspension for cats should be used alongside a Joint Supplement that contains glucosamine to further help support the joints and the cartilage. We have a wide range of Joint Supplements available in the Joint Supplement section of our website.

Metacam is available in the following forms; oral suspension for dogs, 1mg chewable tablets, 2.5mg chewable tablets, an injectable solution for pigs, cattle and horses and a suspension for horses experiencing pain and inflammation.

Special Instructions & Dose
