Panzym Powder is a tasty pancreatic enzyme supplement which can be added to the food and is designed to help aid and settle digestive upsets in both cats and dogs.
It can be used in a variety of situations, including; helping to treat intestinal indigestion, malabsorption and diarrhoea as a result of exocrine pancreatic deficiency (EPI) (where the pancreas fails to produce adequate amounts of the digestive enzymes it would usually make). a digestive upset after a course of antibiotic treatment or diarrhoea resulting from a stressful situation (e.g. a stay in kennels or travelling).
Panzym Powder is derived from pork and contains high levels of the pancreatic enzymes protease, lipase and amylase which are normally secreted into your pet’s intestines by the pancreas and help digestion.
Panzym can be given easily by mixing it into the normal food, and tends to be taken well by cats and dogs.
Special Instructions & Dose
Always consult your veterinarian before use.
Recommended daily intake:
Cat/Dog up to 10kg – 1/3 to 1/2 of a teaspoon twice daily
Dogs > 10 kg - 1/2 to 1 teaspoon twice daily
(teaspoon = approx. 2.6 g)
As an animal's requirements of pancreatic enzymes may vary greatly it is preferable to start with an increased level of enzymes to achieve an immediate (24-48 hours) response and then reduce to the maintenance level to sustain the response.
Mix in with the daily meal, moistening the dry food slightly so the powder adheres to the food.
Additional therapy or a special diet such as Hills i/d may be required.
