Previcox 57mg tablets for dogs are a prescription only Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) mainly used in the long-term treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs.
Previcox 57mg works by helping to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. Previcox can also be used for relief of post-operative pain and inflammation associated with soft-tissue, orthopaedic and dental surgery. Previcox can help to make your dog feel more comfortable, improve their mobility and activity levels, and slow the progression of arthritis.
Previcox 57mg is usually used in small dogs weighing up to 15kgs. Each tablet contains 57mg of the active ingredient Firocoxib. The tablets are chewable, a tan-brown colour, round, engraved scored tablets. The tablets are easy to give as they are designed to be tasty. They can often be given as a treat as they are enhanced with caramel and smoke flavourings to ensure that your dog is more likely to like the flavour.
Previcox 57mg tablet(s) should be given with or after food. Previcox is a good alternative to other NSAIDs (such as Metacam, Meloxidyl or Rimadyl) if your dog has shown side-effects to these medications.
