Semintra is only available in the UK with a veterinary prescription.
Semintra is available in either a 30ml or 100ml bottle and is used for the reduction of proteinuria (Protein in Urine) associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in cats.
The suspension is a Clear, colourless to yellowish viscous oral solution. 1 ml contains 4 mg of telmisartan as active substance and 0.1 mg benzalkonium chloride as excipient.
With each bottle of Semintra a dosing syringe is provided. The syringe fits onto the bottle and has a kg-body weight scale.
Special Instructions & Dose
Semintra is usually given once a day by mouth using the dosing syringe provided. The recommended dose is 1mg telmisartan / kg bodyweight (0.25ml / kg bodyweight).
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Do not use during pregnancy or lactation. The safety of Semintra has not been established in breeding, pregnant or lactating cats.
Semintra has not been tested in cats under 6 months of age. Should only be given under the advice of a veterinary surgeon and regularly monitered for low blood pressure and RAAS.
Shelf-life of opened bottle : 6 months.
