Rilexine is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections particularly of the urinary tract and skin.
All antibiotics are prescription only medications and can only be supplied with a valid UK written prescription.
The active ingredient in Rilexine is Cephalexin. Therefore, Rilexine is used to treat bacterial infections sensitive to cephalexin such as Infections of the urinary tract in cats and dogs. Also affective against cutaneous infections (pyoderma) in dogs, including skin fold pyoderma impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis and cellulitis.
Available in 75mg, 300mg and 600mg variations.
Special Instructions & Dose
Usually given orally twice daily. It may be given as a whole or crushed in food.
For cats – usually one tablet of Rilexine 75 per 5 kg bodyweight twice daily.
For dogs – usually one tablet of Rilexine 300 per 20 kg bodyweight or one tablet of Rilexine 600 per 40 kg bodyweight.
Rilexine tablets are well accepted by cats and dogs but may be crushed or added to food if necessary.
In severe or acute conditions, the dose may be safely doubled.
