Atopica for cats is a liquid used for the treatment of allergic dermatitis. Atopica targets immune cells that are involved in causing the allergic reaction and then inhibits production of inflammatory cytokines. In doing this, Atopica for cats can help stop itching and scratching.
It is supplied in bottles of 5ml or 17ml of solution. Each bottle is provided with a dosing syringe.
This product contains cyclosporine.
Special Instructions & Dose
Once broached, do not store above 30°C or below 20°C.
Once broached the Atopica liquid will keep for 70 days.
Atopica cat should be kept in the bottle in the outer carton.
At below 20°C this product may become solid due to fat components from natural origin. This gel-like formation is reversible at temperatures up to 30°C. Any minor flakes or slight sediment may happen but this does not affect the efficacy, safety or dosing of the Atopica.
Atopica for cats has some side effects, most commonly vomiting or diarrhoea. If you notice your cat is suffering from vomiting or diarrhoea since starting Atopica for cats then contact your vet for further advice. If you notice that your cat is not eating or is losing weight whilst taking Atopica, please contact your vet for advice.
Atopica oral solution for cats can be given either mixed with food or directly into your cat's mouth. If given with food, the Atopica solution should be mixed with a small amount of food, preferably after a sufficient period of fasting to make sure your cat eats it all in one go.
If giving Atopica directly into your cat's mouth with the syringe provided, put the syringe directly into the cat's mouth and give the entire dose. If your cat only consumes some of the product mixed with food, administration of the product with the syringe should be started only the following day.
