Onsior 40mg tablets for dogs are a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) used in the long-term treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs by helping to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis.
The active ingredient in Onsior is Robenacoxib and this medication can help to make your dog feel more comfortable, improve their mobility and activity levels, and slow the progression of arthritis.
Unlike some other NSAIDs on the market, these tablets should not be given with food and cannot be split or broken. Tablets are easy to give: each tablet is enhanced with an artificial beef flavouring to help aid administration and you may find that your dog will take the tablet voluntarily.
Ideally, Onsior should be used alongside a Joint Supplement that contains glucosamine to further help support the joints and the cartilage. All of our Joint Supplements can be found in the Joint Supplement section of our website.
Onsior flavoured tablets for dogs are also available as 5mg, 6mg (cat), 10mg or 20mg tablets to suit different sizes and breeds of dogs.
Special Instructions & Dose
Dose rates for prescription medications are decided by the prescribing veterinary surgeon.
Do not use Onsior for dogs in pregnant or lactating bitches, dogs less than 6 weeks old, or dogs suffering from gastrointestinal disorders, impaired kidney, heart or liver function.
If vomiting or diarrhoea occurs as a side effect of Onsior during treatment then stop the medication and consult your vet.
Onsior is a good alternative to other NSAIDs (such as metacam/meloxidyl) if your dog has shown side-effects to these medications.
