Benazecare Flavour 5mg tablets for dogs are for the treatment of canine heart failure and the reduction of proteinuria associated with chronic kidney disease in cats.
The active ingredient in Benazecare is benazepril hydrochloride and each beige, oval shaped tablet contains 5mg of benazepril.
Each Benazecare 5mg tablet is also scored on both sides allowing it to be split into halves for more accurate dosing.
Benazecare 5mg tablets are beef flavoured but can be given with or without food.
Special Instructions & Dose
Benazecare 5mg is dosed at 0.25mg-0.5mg benazepril per kg of body weight once daily.
Pregnant women should take special care to avoid accidental oral exposure because angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors have been found to affect the unborn child during pregnancy in humans.
Dog Dose: Benazecare Flavour 5mg tablets should be administered orally at a minimum dose of 0.25 mg (range 0.25-0.5) benazepril hydrochloride/kg body weight once daily.
Cat Dose: Benazecare Flavour 5mg tablets should be administered orally at a minimum dose of 0.5 mg (range 0.5-1.0) benazepril hydrochloride/kg body weight once daily.
Shelf life after first opening the immediate packaging: 48 hours. Any divided tablet portion remaining after 48 hours should be discarded.
