Description

Cosequin Equine Powder is a joint supplement formulated for horses. The clinically proven combination of manganese sulphate, glucosamine hydrochloride, vitamin E and chondroitin sulphate in the powder helps to support and maintain joint function, especially in the older animal or those that suffer with osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease. Glucosamine Hydrochloride helps create and stimulate new cartilage growth. It also supports the release of Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which are made from glucose by the cartilage cells. Cosequin Equine maintains the cartilage along with other joint structures such as tendons, ligaments and joint fluid. Chondroitin sulphate attaches itself to collagen for tensile strength and control of water content. It attracts fluid to the joints to help lubricate and nourish them. Manganese is a vital ingredient for GAG and collagen synthesis as it helps the cross-linking of collagen fibres. This also helps retain and support both tensile strength and flexibility of the fibres. Cosequin Equine also contains Vitamin E, which is a powerful but natural antioxidant that can help rid the body of any unwanted free radicals that pose a potential risk.
