Cestem flavoured tablets for small and medium dogs is a liver flavoured worming treatment containing 150mg Febantel, 50mg Pyrantel and 50mg Praziquantel which kill all common types of intestinal worms that are in your dog’s system. The types of intestinal worms that Cestem treats include tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and ascarids, all of which are commonly found in the UK.
Cestem flavoured tablets for small and medium dogs are yellow/brown in colour. Cestem Tablets have been enhanced with liver flavouring to increase palatability and to make oral administration easier but it can be given with food if you have difficulty administering the tablet. Each Cestem tablet treats 10kg bodyweight and can be divided easily to enable you to give your dog the precise dose for its bodyweight (see dose rate below). If possible, an accurate weight should be determined to make sure that the correct dose is given.
Dose Rate:
Dogs weighing between 3-5 kg = ½ a tablet.
Dogs weighing between 6-10 kg = 1 tablet.
Dogs weighing between 11-15 kg = 1½ tablets.
Dogs weighing between 16-20 kg = 2 tablets.
Adult Dogs.
Adult dogs should be treated once every three months. If your dog is suffering from a particularly heavy infestation fo roundworms, a repeat dose should be given after 14 days.
Puppies & nursing bitches.
Puppies should be treated at 2 weeks of age and then again every 2 weeks until they reach 12 weeks of age.
After this period they should be treated every 3 months. It is also recommended that the bitch is treated at the same time as the puppies.
Nursing bitches should be dosed 2 weeks after giving birth and then every two weeks until weaning to control Toxocara canis (roundworms).
