2.5mg/20mg Cardalis Small Dog Tablets

Cardalis 2.5/20mg for dogs is used to treat congestive heart failure when it has been caused by chronic degenerative valvular disease.

Each brown, oblong Cardalis tablet contains a fixed combination of 2.5mg Benazepril Hydrochloride and 20mg Spironolactone. Cardalis is used to treat animals that require both active substances to be administered concomitantly at this fixed dose.

Cardalis 2.5mg/20mg tablets should be given with food, either a small amount just before your dog has had their main meal or can be given with the meal. Each Cardalis 2.5/20mg tablet is scored to enable you to divide the tablets if necessary.

Cardalis is also available as 5mg/40mg and 10mg/80mg doses to accommodate different sizes and breeds of dog.

Special Instructions & Dose

Please see below for recommended dose chart. Please note this is a guideline and your vet may recommend a different dose on a case by case basis.

2.5-5kg – ½ x 2.5/20mg tablet
5-10kg – 1 x 2.5/20mg tablet or ½ x 5/40mg tablet
10-20kg – 1 x 5/40mg tablet
20-40kg – 1 x 10/80mg tablet
40-60kg – 1 + ½ x 10/80mg tablets
60-80kg – 2 x x 10/80mg tablets

Do not use in dogs intended or used for breeding. Do not use in dogs suffering from hypoadrenocorticism, hyperkalaemia or hyponatraemia.

After opening each pot, the recommended shelf-life is 6 months.

Do not administer in conjunction with Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) to dogs with renal insufficiency.

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors) or to any of the excipients.

Do not use in cases of cardiac output failure due to aortic or pulmonary stenosis.
