What is Metacam? Metacam for dogs is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug for dogs (pain relief for dogs). Metacam is used for dogs in pain from arthritis. It is also used post operatively for pain in dogs. Furthermore, it's uses are recognised in the alleviation of inflammation and pain in both acute and chronic musculo-skeletal disorders.

Special Instructions

Do not use Metacam for dogs on pregnant or lactating bitches. Do not use Metacam in dogs less than 6 weeks old. Do not use Metacam in dogs sufferring from gastrointestinal disorders, impaired renal, cardiac or liver function. If vomiting or diarrhoea occurs as a side effect of Metacam during treatment then consult your vet. Ensure you have weighed your dog accurately, especially if small, to ensure accurate dosing of Metacam.

Arthritic dogs benefit from joint supplements containing glucosamine such as cosequin, synoquin, seraquin or Hills J/d diet.

Miscellaneous Instructions

Shake the bottle before use. Administer mixed in food and not on an empty stomach. Stop if vomiting or diarrhoea.
