Feliway Cat Appeasing Pheromone

Feliway is a synthetic copy of the feline facial pheromone, when a cat feels safe in his environment, he will deposit pheromone (scent) marks on furniture or other prominent objects. This is done by rubbing his head from the side of the chin to the base of the ear against the object in question. These marks convey a message of well-being and a feeling of safety.

By mimicking the cat’s natural facial pheromones, Feliway creates a state of familiarity and security in the cat's local environment.
As a result, Feliway can be used to help comfort and reassure cats, whilst they cope with a challenging situation and/or help prevent or reduce the stress caused to a cat during a change in their environment.

Examples of stress related behaviour problems in cats include:

Feliway is available in 2 forms as a spray and an electric diffuser. The electric diffuser is like a plug in air freshener. To help prevent cat stress plug in a feliway diffuser in the room that your cat spends most of its time or where the undesirable behaviour takes place. Alternatively if the cat is being transported or staying in unfamiliar surroundings the spray can be applied to its pet carrier or bedding. For specific behaviour problems such as urine spraying or vertical scratching, feliway spray can be applied to the area daily.
