Pet Prescription Ltd was formed in January 2006 by UK practising veterinary surgeons. The website www.petprescription.co.uk was launched in October 2006. The company was formed in response to changes to Veterinary Medicines Legislation opening up more competition in the supply of veterinary medicines.
 

Petprescription.co.uk is an online veterinary dispensary  that can legally supply prescription only veterinary medicines (classified POM-V)  and advise on their safe and effective use.  As practising Veterinary Surgeons we are in the best position to understand and advise pet owners on the medication that we supply.
 

Our other staff members have either gained the AMTRA SQP qualification or are working towards it, enabling them to advise on and dispense products categorised as POM-VPS and NFA-VPS, including many farm vaccines and parasitacides and flea and worm control products.  The staff at petprescription.co.uk have several decades combined experience of treating sick pets. We have lots of hands on experience of pet drug administration, pet drug palatability, pet drug side effects, and pet drug efficacy making us the very best place to shop for your pet's medication and to seek pet healthcare advice. This relatively new legislation has opened up the supply of prescription medication, increasing competition and reducing prices. It also means that petprescription.co.uk can dispense prescription medications prescribed by vets at significantly lower prices due to our considerably lower overheads and bulk purchasing. We work from premises registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and come under regular inspection by the VMD to ensure we are meeting all current legislation.
 

All the products we supply are sourced from one of the UK's largest veterinary wholesalers, National Veterinary Services (NVS) who quite possibly are the same supplier that your own vet uses. We can guarantee that any products supplied by ourselves are identical to those you would receive through your own vet practice, and are 100% authentic. Please note that there are many internet sites based outside the UK selling prescription veterinary medicines to pet owners within the UK, however, it is actually a criminal offence to import animal medicines from abroad without the necessary import permits.
